Our Process
All independent Chauffeur Operators are subject to a third party background check that includes; a three year MVR abstract, Criminal, Drug and proof of Commercial Insurance that requires “public automobile liability in the the amount of no less than $1,000,000 combined single limit for bodily injury or statutory limits as per the US Department of Transportation or any governing body”. Independent Chauffeur Operators who fail to meet these requirements are rejected from entering the Volta Black Car Affiliate Network. Independent Chauffeur Operators are required to complete an online application by visiting www.volta.world/chauffeur
Insurance Coverage
$1 million Public Automobile Liability covers drivers’ liability to riders and takes precedence over any personal or commercial auto coverage.
$1 million uninsured/underinsured motorist injury
If another motorist causes the accident but doesn’t have adequate insurance, this policy covers bodily injury of anyone in the Volta vehicle.
Contingent Collision and Comprehensive
As long as the independent operator Chauffeur has no less then $1,000,000 dollars in combined single limit for bodily injury or statutory limits as per the US Department of Transportation or any governing body, this policy covers physical damage that occurs during a trip and is subject to a deductible.
On-Trip
Insurance coverage is available between accepting and ending each trip.
Between Trips
Insurance coverage for when you are logged in but have not yet accepted a trip. Our Non-Owned Auto Supplemental Insurance meets or exceeds the third party liability insurance requirements of every U.S. State.
Offline
Volta’s Non-Owned Auto Supplements Commercial Insurance does not cover independent Chauffeur Operators when they are offline and disconnected from the Volta Transportation Network Entity (TNE), smart-phone application or online reservation platform.
